CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A clipper system arrived Thursday afternoon, slowing down commuters during rush hour.

Forecast: Drying out for the weekend

The clipper takes a swipe at the area over the next 12 hours, most will see one to three inches of snow with two to four inches possible in higher elevations.

Look for up to an inch of additional accumulation overnight before a few modest lake effect bands take over on Friday in the snow belt.

Lake effect will linger in the snowbelt through the early afternoon tomorrow, but most of us we’ll be clearing out by the afternoon. Expect a few peaks on sunshine even heading through late day tomorrow. Highs tomorrow will only top out near 30°.

More sun, and more cold, will be with us through the weekend. The good news is, we stay dry through the weekend, and even into early next week! Expect highs on Saturday once again only around 30°. We’ll warm into the middle 30s on Sunday, so expect chilly and dry weather for the Browns game.

We’ll stay dry through the start of next, with highs each day staying in the middle to upper 30s. The good news is we will see a little bit of sun each day through the week.
