CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The Ohio Senate passed a revised version of House Bill 228, formerly known as the “Stand Your Ground Bill,” with a vote of 19-10 on Thursday.

The Republican-controlled Ohio House already passed a version of the bill, but must now vote again after several changes were made by the Senate.

The latest version of the bill would require prosecutors to prove that a shooting was not an act of self-defense.

If the latest changes are approved by the Ohio House, the bill would be sent to the governor’s desk for final approval.
