CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The founder of “Walls of Love,” a project dedicated to providing cold-weather necessities for people in need around Cleveland, says six signs have disappeared.

The signs were posted in some of the 52 locations where people can drop off mittens, hats, gloves, and other items for those who need them.

The signs cost about $80 to make, and Holly Jackson, the founder of Walls of Love, got that money out of her own pocket.

After discovering the signs were missing, she posted about it on the group's Facebook page. That's when a sign-making busienss out of Twinsburg offered to replace them all.

"When the signs disappeared, it was very sad and disheartening, but the love and support from the community, not only in the donations, but in the positive comments and things they have put out there as far as being happy about the project that I'm doing, but the love and support of people trying to fix it--it's amazing," said Jackson.

So far, Jackson says, Walls of Love has been able to help 6,111 people survive the bitter cold, and Jackson wants to see the project continue. In spring, she's planning to begin putting out different items for people in need, including hygiene packets.

To do that, though, she needs help. Walls of Love is hosting a fundraiser on April 7, which will go to raise money and supplies for people in need.
